Chloe Chardonnay – 2013
This is a really nice, easy-drinking and versatile Chardonnay from Chloe. The price and quality make this great for a party or for every day.
Price: $10-12 at a number of chain grocery stores like Safeway/Tom Thumb, Kroger and the beer/wine/liquor super-store Total Wine.
Color: A beautiful, light straw.
Aroma: Lightly aromatic with a slight hint of lemon citrus and vanilla.
Taste: Great texture with notes of butterscotch, vanilla and cream soda with a supple and smooth finish. While this Chardonnay has a number of the characteristics of a balanced, oaked chardonnay, it is true to its crisp and light fruitiness with hints of pear and light citrus.
Pairing: Pears, cheeses (Gruyere and Comte would pair well), chicken (it went superbly with our lemon-pepper, grilled chicken), other poultry, and even pork chops if you prefer whites to reds.
Terrior and winery: Sonoma County Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) from the Chloe Vineyard of Livermore, CA.
